Dr. B. G. Bramhecha
President, Rahul Smruti Prathishthan (Nachiket Balagram)
It gives me immense pleasure to write this. This is not as mere formality but with a deep sense of gratitude. Our association is since more than five years. It started with religious functions such as Satyanarayan Puja, Gajanan Maharaj Prakat Din, etc.
With time several other activities were taken by the students, faculty, non-teaching staff and the Director also contributed in funding Nachiket Balagram in the field of education, culture, art, hobbies, games, etc. We also received donation in cash and kind from time-to-time study material, books, stationary, school bags, uniforms, etc. Your group enjoyed celebrating birthdays of our children.
Here we gratefully mention donations in amounts given by Shri Bharat Chavan Patil (MD - Operations), Mrs. Richa Chavan Patil, (MD- Quality Assurance) and staff members. Consistent contribution is the essence of these activities due to which the association has turned into loving and affectionate relationship. This has enriched the minds and personality of our children.
The selfless work put in by the visionary and humanitarian Founder, respected Dadasaheb (Dr. D. Y. Patil), teachers and staff, has enabled Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies to carve its own niche in the field of education. It has become a beacon (Deepstambh) for several educational institutes. The Institute under dynamic leadership of Executive Director is imparting not only world-class contemporary education to the youth, but also humanizing the education sector. Their association with the Orphanage - Nachiket Balgram is an example.
I pray to the Almighty for strengthening this bond and abode of humanity.

In India, the idea of involving students in the task of national service dates back to the times of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The central theme which he tried to impress upon his student audience time and again was that they should always keep before them, their social responsibility. The first duty of the students should be, not to treat their period of study as one of the opportunities for indulgence in intellectual luxury, but for preparing themselves for final dedication in the service of those who provided the sinews of the nation with the national goods & services so essential to society. Advising them to form a living contact with the community in whose midst their institution is located, he suggested that instead of undertaking academic research about economic and social disability, the students should do "something positive so that the life of the villagers might be raised to a higher material and moral level".
As a part of social service, the NSS unit of the Institute conducts special camps at various locations. The NSS unit of the Institute organize an Annual Residential Camp in the vicinity of the Institute after the University examinations in the month of December. The seven-day camp encourages the attitude of selfless service amongst students and promotes their physical, mental and spiritual development.
Activities such as tree plantation, cleanliness and upkeep of the village, construction of dam, garbage removal, and soil tilling are carried out.As a part of rational development of volunteers and villagers, guest lecturers of renowned speakers are conducts on various topics such as Youth for Rural Sustainable Development, Women Empowerment through Self Help Group, Challenges in front of Today’s Youth, Ch. Shivaji MaharajSwarajya and Today’s Rajya, Yoga the lifeline for All, Right to Information Act, Gandhiji and Self Reliant Villages, Dreams and How to achieve it, Superstition and its impact on Society, Organic Farming: Need of Age etc.
